The CHSP sector serves a diverse range of older Australians, many of whom come from different cultural backgrounds. Similarly, an increasing number of the care workforce is people of CALD background. Effective service delivery in this sector requires not only technical knowledge and skills but also cultural intelligence.
Cultural intelligence is an individual's ability to understand their own and other cultures and to interact and work fairly and effectively in all situations characterized by cultural diversity. In this workshop, we will provide individuals working in the CHSP sector with the foundation of what they need to develop their cultural intelligence and work effectively in multicultural environments.
